‘De Sterrenloper’ is a school project where me and my group had to
design a theater play for a client. The project had to contain at least
one XR element. We eventually decided to make this a VR project.
The
story of ‘De Sterrenloper’ is about Larry. He is a ‘sterrenwachter’
(star guardian), and he researches the concept of time. When guests come
by, they are the first to come after a long time. He gives them a tour
at ‘Het huis van de Sterren’ (The House of the Stars), his research
facility. Unexpectedly the last star begins to fall into the hourglass.
What does this mean and could this be bad? Only time could tell.
Our
project group consisted of five members, Wessel Roelofse (Developer),
Fanaar Rashid (Designer), Twan Reinders (Concept & VFX artist), Ely
Diop (Concept & 3D artist) and me (3D artist). During the project I
mainly focused on the environment and creating assets. Throughout the
making process I used tools like Blender, Clip Studio Paint, Procreate
and Unity.
I had the responsibility of modeling and
texturing ‘De Sterrenloper’. First I made the mesh in Blender. Then I
textured it with a combination of Blender and Clip Studio Paint.
Finally, I exported this to Unity and created a shader using shader
graph.
