Project Junkyard was a project I worked on with some people from
school. It is a isometric turnbased rpg. The main character of this
game comes from the Junkyard, a rejected place which is no longer
connected to The Eternal City. He wants more than just life in the
Junkyard and goes on an adventure to find a way out.
During this
project I was busy making the background and various props for the
environment.
When creating the background I mainly took
inspiration from Japanese rural architecture. First I made sketches on
paper.
Then I moved on to pixel art. I used the program Aseprite. This was the first time I worked with pixel art.
When making the various props I used programs such as Maya and BlockBench. I first made the 3D model in Maya and later imported it into BlockBench to give it a texture.

Finally, I had made several 3D models that have a metal texture to look more like 'junk' in the Junkyard. I again made the models in Maya and I made the texture in Aseprite.
